| Albi and Marie Stoddart (Isle of Man) Chambres d'hotes 10/06/05 | Many thanks Sheila and Brian for looking after us so well. We have enjoyed our stay at Le Clos des Guyons; relaxing in the garden and exploring the village. A must do is a walk through the vineyards. Say 'Hello' to the ladies as you walk down the road to them, and wave at the farmers as you walk through, (it's really a walk to remember! ) Thanks Sheila for all the good cooking and to Brian for his vast knowledge of local wines. All the very best of luck!

| Chris, Ann, Matthew, Caitlin, Miles (Oxford) and Shannon (WINNIPEG, CANADA) 12/08/05 | We have had a wonderful fortnight here with something special to remember every day, special memories include:- The Japanese Gardens at Maulevrier; walking through the narrow streets up to the Chateau at Monsoreau; discovering 'Paysanne Salad' in Cholet; shopping in Saumur market Saturday morning; drinking coffee in the Prieure St Lazare. at Fontenvraud Abbey; the Classical Guitar Concert in the Eglise at Passavant sur Layon followed by a glass of wine in the Chateau. But what has made staying at Le Clos des Guyons so much more than just renting a beautiful gite, has been the wonderful hospitality, enthusiasm and expert knowledge that Brian and Sheila have shared with us:- Three hour Sunday lunches in Montreuil-Bellay; seeing Brian in his element at a village fete in Denez sur Doué and the wine degustation at Domaine de Petit Clocher in Clere sur Layon. It has been a truly outstanding holiday for all of us! | ||||||||||

Phil and I are about to move on to the next chapter in the Loire saga but just because we will possibly be staying 'chez nous' next time we are here, don't think that Le Puy is safe as we'll be back to visit and to do some more 'degusting'. Now that the house hunting is nearly over our time here can be spent being tourists! 'Remercie encore' for making Le Clos des Guyons such a special place for us. A bientot! | ||||||||||
